Books new and old find good homes

Recently we received a thank you from Whales Tales Book Bank for the Board Books and Spanish children’s books we donated benefitting a play group of preschoolers. We were thrilled to hear how just days after being received so many of the books were already being enjoyed by their group!

Overall we collected about 1,000 books during our March Casual for a Cause collection, shared between amazing local programs like Whales Tales and Madonna Place. These programs benefit many families in Southeastern CT, promoting literacy and family values.

In addition to these books, we also made a donation to The Next Chapter, a program developed by the West Hartford Public Schools to address the ongoing education, vocational, social and communication need of the students in the Post-Secondary Program. This donation will be used to help increase these student’s skills in the areas of independence and self-determined behavior.

We love what we do and are so proud that we can support our community in such a positive way!

Do you have any questions about what the Brigade does? If you have a need for our assistance with volunteer opportunities, special projects, or collections/drives please reach out to Melissa Yuchniuk for our help at myuchniuk@binsurance.com.
