Helping felines and a family in need

On Monday morning, we received a call for urgent assistance within our community, and members of the Bouvier Brigade were eager to respond!

Wednesday, February 16, we assisted Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control and Paws Cat Shelter CT to aid in the removal of 36 cats from a local home. This family was a lovely family that cared very much for their cats, but things had just gotten a bit out of hand for them. The cats needed medical care and they didn’t have the resources available. These cats will now receive the medical care they require to live happy, healthy lives. They will be spayed or neutered, and then will be adopted into loving homes. As you can imagine, Paws has undertaken a great financial responsibility by taking in these cats, so in addition to assisting them with the cataloging all of the animals, Bouvier Insurance was also able to make a monetary donation to help offset the cost of care.

In the course of working with this family, in removing the cats, the animal control officer was able to coordinate a dumpster that will be placed on the property and he is organizing a work party that will be returning to the home to assist in yard debris removal and cleanup. Members of the Bouvier Brigade are already signing up to assist again. We look forward to sharing more as our journey continues with this family, working side by side in, with, and for our community.
