Don’t get flooded by lack of preparation

Homeowners insurance does NOT cover flood damage

A flood is defined as a temporary condition caused by water from a natural source that covers 2 or more acres of normally dry land. A flood includes the following: an overflow of inland or tidal waters, unusual and rapid accumulation or runoff of surface waters, mudslides caused by accumulations of water on the ground or underground, or collapse of land as a result of excessive erosion due to flooding.

Floods can happen anywhere. According to FEMA, just one inch of floodwater can cause up to $25,000 in damage, to just one home! Flood insurance is a separate insurance policy, that can cover buildings, the contents in a building, or both. It is important to make sure you are protected; talk to your Bouvier Insurance agent about flood insurance and watch this video from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIo7nUlA6hE
